This is an entry-level course, which covers basic firearms handling and shooting fundamentals. This course is designed to meet the firearms training requirements for the 40-hour Pre-basic course. The course material will cover firearm safety, shooting fundamentals (stance, grip, trigger control, sight alignment, and sight picture), loading and unloading skills, basic marksmanship skills, malfunction clearing skills, weapon maintenance, and legal aspects. This course can also be used as remedial training for problem shooters, or for weapon transition training (example: transition from revolver to the auto-pistol). This is an 8-hour course.
