Patrol Rifle Level I

    This is an entry-level course, which covers basic patrol rifle handling and shooting fundamentals. Students will be instructed in firearms safety, ammunition selection, basic shooting fundamentals (stance, weapon to shoulder placement, trigger control, sight alignment, and sight picture), loading and unloading skills, malfunction clearing skills, basic marksmanship skills, patrol rifle “carry” positions (and the use of the sling), communication skills, and weapon maintenance. Students will also receive training in shooting while on the move skills, shooting positions, and basic weapon retention skills. Students will be required to successfully complete a qualification course of fire. This is a (1) one day course (minimum of 8 hours).
