Searches
This course is
designed to provide the road officer with the basic
skills and knowledge needed to effectively and safely
search buildings (homes, businesses, warehouses, etc.).
Students will learn through lecture and practical
exercises how to approach the scene, how to check the
exterior and perimeter, where and how to make entry,
room clearing techniques, low-light flashlight
techniques, communication skills, and how to work in
teams (2 or more officers). Students will also
participate in role-playing scenarios. NOTE: This is not
a SWAT course. Class is designed for the road/patrol
officer. This is an 8-hour course.
