Vehicle
& Felony Stops
This course provides
the officer with the skills needed to conduct
traditional vehicle stops (unknown risk stops) through
the high-risk felony stops. Course curriculum includes:
training on the 3 types of approaches for unknown risk
traffic stops, kill zones, vehicle placement, back up
officer approach techniques, back up officer
responsibilities, tinted windows, and low-light vehicle
stops. Students will also learn techniques for traffic
stops involving motorcycles, vans, and semi
tractor-trailers. Students will participate in multiple
role-playing scenarios in which they can apply their
newly acquired skills. This is an 8-hour course.
